Here are some of my babies:

Bunny was my first my horse—a beautiful copper color in the sun. Handsome Jack (isn’t he though?) reminds me of Black Beauty. I read that book a dozen times. Our mule, Thunder, is always ready to take me on a trail riding adventure. My rat terrier, Daisie, is my lap dog and the bane of my husband’s existence. Millie is our perfectly behaved Schnoodle who gets along well with the three barn cats: Peaches, Mickey (Curious George) and Tom. She is camera-shy but I will eventually get a picture of her on here.

Our sweet Bunny (above) moved on to that great pasture in the sky, June of 2014, at the ripe old age of 31.  Her career as a jumper, barrel racer, lesson and therapeutic horse will be remembered by many. Our trail rides together were some of the best I ever had. She was my first horse and took such good care of me.  We will miss you, Kate Bar Bunny.

Moonstone Magic aka Handsome Jack is the Black Beauty I wanted since childhood. He is sweet, gorgeous, and everything you would expect in a great trail horse. He is also my equine therapist, and I don’t know what I do without him.

Chris and Thunder

Thunder was my mule until he and my husband bonded. Now they are inseparable. If there is a questionable trail or hill that needs climbing, we put hubby and the mule out front. If they can’t make it, we need to find another way. Thunder is the most affectionate, loving, intelligent, and hard-headed animal we have ever owned.

daisie

Daisie is my rescue lapdog. She is a rat terrier/Jack Russell mix who is yappy, dominant but fearful, and a royal PIA. I love her to death. Hubby is always trying to give her away.

Obviously, we live in the country. Below is a view of our neighborhood where I walk daily with our dogs. Our ‘block’ is a two mile hike. A forest preserve is off to the left and corn fields on the right. We have dozens of deer, wild turkey, possum, raccoons, rabbits, foxes, coyotes, and the dreaded skunk.

My apology for not getting a photo of the dueling male skunks under our house. I was in a hurry to get out. It took months for the smell to dissipate.

  1. Hello Abrey, I do volunteer work for Heartfelt Promotions, and they feel you would be a good fit to be a blog tour partner for other romance authors. You would have your website linked to the Heartfelt Promos website and be listed in their partner directory, which would make your accebible to new traffic directed at your website. Heartfelt Promos is always looking for new authors to partner with them. Their website gets a lot of traffic which is linked back to your blog.
