Historical Romance Easter Egg Hunt Hop

It’s Springtime! The grass is green, the temperatures are rising, and Easter eggs are hiding.

What traditions do you enjoy this time of year? Some people buy a new bonnet each year. In New Zealand and parts of Australia, hot cross buns are more than just a tune you have to learn as a kid; they’re an Easter favorite. The island countries enjoy noshing on these dense treats on Easter, which occurs during their meteorological fall. Once you know that Easter comes right before their winter, it makes more sense that they’d be drawn to this bit of comfort food over the holiday.

My sister always had an hunt. The kiddos got candy and the adult kiddos got cash and gift cards.Others enjoy a great brunch. In France, don’t forget a fork and your appetite if you happen to be in the southern French town of Haux on Easter Monday. Each year, a giant omelet is served up in the town’s main square, according to Atlas Obscura. And when we say giant, we mean giant: The omelet uses more than 15,000 eggs and feeds up to 1,000 people. Legend has it, when Napoleon and his army were traveling through the south of France, they stopped in a small town and ate omelets. Napoleon liked his so much that he ordered the townspeople to gather their eggs and make a giant omelet for his army the next day.

I remember getting a new dress and Easter bonnet every year when I was young. The school district I worked for had an Easter Hat contest every year. For a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card and your choice of ebook from my Once Upon a Widow or Chicago Romance series, tell us which bonnet tickles your fancy!
