Historical Romance Trick-or-Treat Hop

It’s that SPOOOOOOKY time of year again. Who loves Halloween? I’m already deep into the movie classics. I’ve watched The Haunting of Hill House (LOVE Shirley Jackson’s crazy stories), two Dracula movies (Lugosi and Oldman), and House of Wax (Vincent Price). I’m waiting for Frankenstein and The Mummy. And the mandatory haunted series on cable: Haunted hospital, hometowns, and prisons.

Don’t forget to scroll down and check out the rest of the authors on this awesome hop!

My great-niece, Miss Etta Rose, has bought at least five Halloween costumes and still isn’t sure which one will ultimately win out. Her top favorites are Demon Hunter, a witch, and Wednesday. For a chance to win my Regency Halloween story and a $5 Amazon gift card, comment below about the best Halloween costume you’ve ever seen.

The past looks over your shoulder…

The Earl of Karmaughton cares about two things in life: power and his wife, Ellie. He’s not oblivious to the suffering caused by his investment decisions. But the innocent are expendable, and as Percy’s father always said, “It’s business.”

Lady Karmaughton will never convince her husband to listen to his conscience. Instead, she quietly works behind Percy’s back to atone for the damage. When their lives abruptly end in a horrific carriage accident, Ellie finally has the opportunity to save her husband’s soul.

While Karma bides its time.

The callous nobleman learns that for every action there is a consequence. To avoid his punishment in Hell, he must spend his time in Purgatory—a strange place that resembles an abandoned circus. His task: helping other souls repent or find their way to eternal damnation. With Ellie’s help, Lord Karma’s Karnival becomes an eerie last stop for those who need to discover their humanity… or suffer in perpetuity.

    1. The best costume I have seen is my daughter dressed her family up this year as Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head, their oldest son as Buzz Lightyear and her twin son and daughter as slinky dog. They won their local Halloween costume contest!

  1. I think the best costume i very see. Was a lady dressed a Maraline Monroe she really looked just like it her it was so cool
    Happy Halloween

  2. My favorite costumes are when my 4-year-old grandson dresses up as spiderman. My other favorite is when both of my grandsons and their mom dressed up in Grinch costumes.

  3. My favorite Halloween costume and the best that I’ve ever seen was two of my co-workers dressed up as M&M’s. The costumes were actually made of chocolate with an outer shell – it was designed around an inner layer of temp-resistant hard plastic. Heavy, but actually edible! After the judging was over (yes, they won), they were “attacked”! 😀 They did look yummy!!!

  4. My twin daughter dressed up as twin dead girls. Matching outfits and all. Every time I see something like that, I think of the Shining…. creepy.

  5. The best costumes I’ve ever seen are the mouse and rabbit costumes that my grandmother made for my brother and I.

  6. The best one I have ever seen was this kid made his costume and he was a whack-a-mole game! Happy Halloween!

  7. I think the best Halloween costume I’ve ever seen was Ursula, the sea witch from the animated version of The Little Mermaid. It was so well done!

  8. One of the bedt costumes that I have seen was a girl dressed like pippi longstocking. She was totally dressed out❤️

  9. There’s so many awesome Halloween costumes out there. I do like following Heidi Klum as she always does spectacular costumes. Last year’s was amazing – she dressed up as E.T!

  10. A friend’s son costume as a firefighter in his firetruck. (his wheelchair was the base). It was one of the most creative, thoughtful costume idea.

  11. Best Halloween costume i have seen is, might be a bit biased, but my brothers jason vorhees costume i made for him!

  12. One year at work, we all dressed up for Halloween I worked for The City of Paducah in the finance department. That was one of the most fun Halloween events ever in my life. I loved going trick or treating with my kids and I tried to dress up every year but that was definitely a memorable experience ❤️ Happy Halloween

  13. I’ve always loved the more elaborate costumes like someone dressed exactly like Harlequinn or over the top Lara Croft. It’s the amount of effort they put into it that makes it amazing for me.

  14. The best I saw was a steampunk fairy with huge wings that were transparent, had fairy lights on them, and moved/fluttered. It was awesome.
